    Pk698

    Hi,

I'm looking for some info about this unit.
I know where it was send on the front, that's all.

I'm doing some researchs about Karl Schwoon who was int his unit in 1943/1944.

If you have soldbuch, papers or others items (or infos) about the PK698 it will be amazing !

    Thanks in advance.

        Hello Florent,

Info about Coy-level units are is in the most cases (if found !) very general.
The sources I have (Keilig, Tessin, Kannapin) give only the data as I put on the forum.

Exact date of creation I can't provide. As the FPNr appeared in the Feldpostübersicht (4th edition) which was used from 16.2 - 18.7.1942 in this 5 month period the 698 PK appeared without an exact date; so it could be any given day in this period.

As Kannapin does not mention " FPNr deleted - or given to another unit", I assume that it existed until the end of the war.

I checked the Feldpostübersicht Teil I - 85 Neudruck Stand vom 20.3.1945 mit Änderungen bis 3.5.1945, and the FPNr 20545 was in this period still handled by the FPAmt mit Kenn-Nr 775
(belonged to FPAmt 732, active in the last months of the war in the battle of the bulge, thereafter the Aachen-Ruhr region.
The last "Postleitort" was the town of Ludwigslust.
It ended in the Ruhr-Pocket and was take POW by the US)

                  Hello all
What were the branches attached to the PK698 ? Heer ?

What a typical bildberichter of this unit wear in 1943 on the Westfront ?
grey or yellow waffenfarbes ? M-43 suit ?

                  PzBtl423 on your document it's PK689 not PK698
Do you get the same document for the 698 ?
The other document is just amazing !!!

Does someone know what a bilbercihter (PK) soldbuch looks like ?

                  Thanks in advance !
