    10th Panzer Division & 69th Regt

    Hi; I'm currently researching the 10th Panzer division and I've been directed to this forum in case someone might be able to help me.

    I'm researching the 10th Pz Div in Tunisia, and the 69th regiment in particular.
    Specifically I'm looking at the battle of Christmas Hill (Longstop), 22nd Dec-25th Dec 1942.

    Very little has been been written about the german side, with the exception of Oberst Lang's personal account.

    Does anyone know anything about this or have either of the books

    Hans Luke (1986) 10. Panzer Division - Schützenregiment 69 Afrikakorps
    Die Zehnte P.D. (1993) Die Geschichte der 10. Panzerdivision 1939-1945

    Any advice would be appreciated, as I'm starting from scratch in terms of researching a German unit!!!

      Those are some great links Here is a little more info....

      While not considered the DAK, The 10th did serve with distinction in Tunisia.
      The 10th Pz Div was split into two KampfGruppe at the arrival in Tunisia and though sometimes combined briefly, operated this way for the duration.
      Each KG had 1 Bn of Pz from the 7th Pz Regt. and a Bn each from the 69th & 86th Pz Gr Regts which were really motorized (trucked) Inf. The 10th Motorcycle (recon) Bn with one KG and the 90th Art Regt with the other.... The Pz Jg Co's in the two Pz Gr Regt's & the Recon Bn had towed 50mm not SP Pz Jg. There were also some towed 105mm Art attached as well. And a few Tigers from the 501st.
