Album - Sanitäts-Kompanie 625 - Nowo Alexandrowskoje, Russia 1942

I recently picked up several albums in trade and there is one more here that I would like to find more information on if possible. It comes from a field hospital surgeon working in Nowo Alexandrowskoje, Russia.

There are several pictures of the field hospital, ambulances, casualties arriving by air, operations, facilities including operating theatres, sauna, baths, showers and so on.

Throughout there are a few typed (gothic script) notes here and there, and this one below seems to be the most relevent that it mentions a Dr Peters and '625'.

It seems to just mention that there was a Sanitäts-Kompanie 625 (A).

I believe this is the unit mentioned in the typed notes in the Surgeon photo album.

Does anyone know how to find more about Sanitäts-Kompanie 625 (A) ? Looking to confirm that they were located in Alexandrowskoje and also the dates that they were there for & which division they belonged to and any names if possible. There is mention of a Dr Peters in the typed notes so I would love to find out his firstname if possible and whether or not he survived.

Thanks for that. There were de-lousing facilities there too, also a dentists practice. The album also has pictures of a captured Kv2 which appears to be in the vicinity. As well as that there are mass funerals & field graves which look like they might have been in the vicinity of the field hospital location.

If names can be seen on grave markers, run them through the Volksbund database. If a soldier died at a Sanko, it is quite often mentioned, as is the place of burial.

Unfortunately no names are legible on graves. The more I think about it the more definite it seems that it is from Sanko.1, 625 Ortslaz. Alexandrowskoje as the combination of location, medical connection and the number '625' that appear in this link

make it the most likely. I would still love to find out more about what division Sanitäts-Kompanie 625 (A) belonged to and where they were and when etc though LDW draws an (almost) blank on this which is a shame !

The Sanitäts-Komanpie 625 did exist. From the period of 1.10. - 31.12.1942 there was a Zug from San.Komp. 625 in Semenkowo under the 4. Armee.

Thanks for that information. I have been able to find out very little about them since I first got that album, when they were formed, where they went or anything at all really. Any information you can add on sanko 625 would be appreciated.

Hi Helden etc for some reason I missed this.
The KC Holder in the pics I believe is Martin Jacobs
awarded the Ritt 26/Dec 1943 with 131 ID,41 Army Corps,9th Army.
He was given the award on 30th Dec while in a Field Hospital
in Borrisow.It looks like the Album goes up to late 1943.
