Trying to find any information for a friend on the following Panzer IV driver, he was married to my friends mother in law.
His name was George (Georg) Greiner. All my friend could tell me was that he started his career at Kursk with the LSSAH and was with them for the rest of the war.
As he was a Panzer IV driver I take it he was in the II Battalion SS-Panzer Regiment 1. He also mentioned that Georg was in Normandy and crossed the Seine on foot with his comrades.
He also mentioned that he was awarded the Iron Coss 1st & 2nd Class, Silver Wound Badge and the Tank Battle Badge marked with 25 accumulated days in combat.
Any Information or web links will be a great help. Just one thing I do not read German.
Regards
Richard
