Grenadier-Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Bataillon 211

My Great Grandfather was in Grenadier-Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Bataillon 211 and I've been having difficulty trying to find information on the unit. The only information the DD WASt provided me was the unit and that he enlisted in August 1944. Prior to enlisting into the Wehrmacht he was in the Reichbahn and served as a Fahrer. I'm assuming that Grenadier-Ersatz und Ausbildungs-Bataillon 211 is a late war unit. I would like to know where they fought.

It's not a late war unit though it did go through various name changes. The reason you wont find much on it is because it's a training and replacement depot unit.
