Info required on Flak reg 22 & serviceman.

Hi Guys,

If someone could please help me regarding info on my named and unit marked Flak visor from the 7./II. Flak Reg.22 and named to a HALLY .


i know of the Volksbund site but i dont read German that well and find it hard to use that site, if someone could help me in this area, that would be much
appreciated.


Also i believe this unit defended the Reich’s capitol against Allied bomber attacks in the last campaign, under command of LVI Panzer Corps in the Battle Of Berlin, if someone can confirm or give a little more information, that would be great.

Flak regiments rarely if ever operated as regiments. In fact to all intents and purposes the stab and abteilungen were independent units.

II./Flak Rgt.22 spent almost all of its wartime existence in France, as the Germans retreated out of France in '44 it moved to the eifel region and was finally trapped in the Ruhr pocket i believe.

It was a mixed or 'gemischte' battalion meaning it's 5 batteries operated a mix of light and heavy flak guns.

In the Volksbund list you will find only two soldier Hally in ww2:

1) Hally, Peter * 25.6. 1911 + MIA in Russia since 1.2.1945

2) Hally, Heinrich, Grenadier * 22.4.1906 KIA 23.7.1943 Melichowo near Bolgorod/Russia

There are two other Hally but from WW1
