SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18 - KZ. Stutthof.

    Hi.

A norwegian SS offiser was transferd from Norway to "SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18" in January 1945 and after this he worked a short time in KZ. Lager "Stutthof" as a prisonguard.

Were there soldiers in" SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18" that were transferd as guards to Stutthof ?
Was "SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18" in the area of Stutthof (Danzig) after January 1945 ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi DeMil,
I just took a look through the "missing" of this bataljon.
In general the 488 missing (!) posted their last letter after january '45 from:
    - Hamburg (2-3.45)
    - Frankfurt/O. (3.45)
    - Breslau (1.45)
    - Ratibor (1-3.45)
    - Langenhorn (1-2.45)
    - Leobschüts (2-3.45)
Not a single man (missing) wrote from Stutthof (Danzig).

Hi Peter and thanks for your answer.

The Norwegian SS offiser survived the war.
He was transferd from "SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18" in January 1945 - to Stutthof KZ-lager.
That is the only thing I have found out, but of course that could happen, despite the "SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18" did not fight in that area.
Or was the "SS-Pz. Gren. Ers. Btl. 18" at that time a depot Batallion ?

      Regards

      Derek
