    Freiherr von Hohenhausen

    Hi,

I am looking for info on "Freiherr von Hohenhausen" who was a Leutnant und Batteriefuhrer with Artillery Regiment VII in Munich in July 1930. Is it possible that it is Oberstleutnant Oskar Freiherr von Hohenhausen und Hochhaus who won RK in 1945 and commanded Panzergrenadier-Regiment 9?

    Thanks,

    Mark

The '44 and '39 rangliste lists two regular officers with the name, one of them is this panzergrenadier oberstleutnant who was previously with artillery regiment 33 and promoted hauptmann in 1935, the other a major originally with beobachtungs abteilung 5.

I think Oskar is definitely your man, right age, right rank progression and right arm of service.

      Thanks Simon,

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!! Here is the portion of the document with his signature. Perhaps someone can confirm that this signature indeed matches Oskar Freiherr von Hohenhausen und Hochhaus...

      Many thanks,

      Mark

You are correct, he is one and the same man. I had some free time so I scanned a few select pages from his personnel file. As you can see the signature is a dead on match.

                5. The signature from the file, a dead on match. Let me know if you have any more questions. His file is interesting and rather extensive.

                  Excellent help Mike,

Interesting persona. Do you have any information about his RK? It seems that some historians argue that he never received it... Also, would you know what happen to him after WWII? From what I understand, he is from very famous Bavarian military family...
