    Americans In The Wermacht

I had a customer, when I was in business, who told me that he had several German medals, along with the documents, of a German man, who came to the USA and joined the American Army and fought in Germany.
He said that he would sell them, but never brought them in for me to see.
I finally cornered him, but he told me that he had sold the medals. The man who bought them, was not interested in the award documents, so he threw them away.
He was a big talker, so it all might have been BS. I'll never know, now.

I served in the USMC with a former WW2 German Lt. The photo of him he carried in his wallet showed him wearing the EK 1 & 2, IAB and silver WB. While in Vietnam he once remarked it was his chance to kill more commies ! I often wonder what happened to him. Tom

A Seasoned War Veteran of the Wehrmacht and USMC

          Dear Tom,

I don't suppose you know the rank in the USMC of this Wehrmacht veteran during the Vietnam War? There were many Wehrmacht veterans ending up serving the US Armed Forces and fought during the Korean War and the Vietnam War!

          Sincerely,

          Edward L. Hsiao
