Hello, I am seeking info on Obergefreiten Franz Stammler of KG 27. I have his Honor Goblet and award document as well as some other docs. From the documents I know he served in Russia in late 41 and all of 42. I have a photo of him and 3 fellow aircrew marked on the back "mit meiner Bezatzung im Soyla (?) zur Mer zum Cholung(hard to read - possible English translation could be receation)in Mai 1944. So, we know they were still in business in 44' but I can't tell if this is in France or ? in 1944. From there on I have no further info. Any help or direction on where to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rich

From the documments is possible to say that he was still with this unit in '44? I'm asking this because it would be possible to discover where his unit was at this time.

Douglas, It appears he was still with KG 27 in 1944. If someone know where 3/KG 27 served in May 44 (I think they were on R&R) it would help me figurte out this "zum Mer" locale. RichComment
