I have 2 books with Wilhelm Beck listed in them, "Their Honor Was Loyalty!" by Jost W. Schneider (page 26) and "Die Ritterkreuzträger Der Waffen-SS" by E.G. Krätschmer (page 160). If you don't have these books and would like a copy of the info, let me know.

I have written to the BundesArchiv in attempt to locate any military records associated with him, officer personnel file, etc.

I have also been researching the units he was assigned to to get specifics on battles and operations he was involved in. And trying to locate any referenced materials (books,etc) and personal artifacts if I can locate any.

I know he was buried in France and have his grave location as well.

I have a portion of his file in my records. They show he has both an Offizier file, of which this is a small part, and a RuSHA file. Note the cause of death on the last document.

Beck won the RK during the Battle of Kharkov in 1943 leading 2 Kompanie SS Panzer Regt 1 LSSAH, in 19 days of combat his kompanie destroyed 9 T34'S and 120 artillerie pieces , during the fghting he lost 2 tanks in succesion, in the suburbs of Kharkov he destroyed another 2 T 34's.

Beck commanded his company of Panthers prior to the Normandy Invasion but was then transferred as Liaison Officer for I SS Panzer korps attached to Panzer Gruppe West. He was killed when the Panzergruppe HQ was bombed on 10/6/1944 at La Caine.
