information acquired of Waffen-SS men

Hi,

I have several SS fieldpostletters, SS dentistcards and one SS e-marke. I would like to know more about the history of this items. What happened to the previous owner etc etc?

I wrote to the Wast and after three weeks, I got a letter in which they told me I couldn't have this information. The familiy of this waffen-SS men have to give permission... that's the privacy law in Germany.

Can I do something else to obtain information of these soldiers?

The fact that you got a WASt response at all is rather amazing, even if a negative response.

If you post the names of the men, or send me a pm, I'll try and help from NARA.

Thanks Mike, I will send you the names after the weekend because it are busy times with two little kids...

I have send the names of the waffen-ss men to the Wast with the internet, not with the post.
