Hello,

I'm searching information about a Gebirgsjäger oberleutnant named Maximilian Kürz, probably belonging to 98th or 99th regiment.

Can anybody help me?

A quick google search:

The guy there is named Max Kurz (but Kürz is a very uncommon name and
Max is the common short form of Maximilian), I think it could be him.

Ok, it sais the following:

German gebirgsjäger of III.GjR 98 were trying to attack their former allies (Italians) on the island of Kefalonia on September 16 1943.

When they tried to land in the Vatsa-bay they came under fire of the Italians who landed a direct hit on the little ship.
16 gebirgsjäger of 14. and 15. kompanie were killed, 32 were wounded. Among the wounded was Oberleutnant Max Kurz.

Ah yes, the signature fits. It sais Maxi (which is not a real name but short for
Max or Maximilian). Lets see the picture!
