I forgot this one. EKII document signed on 4th of novemebr 1944 by general Sander from the 245 ID. IMHO a part of Stug brigade 244 was attached to this division.

He was in 5th/ gren regiment 936. At the end of october and begiining of november, he fought in the same area as Wilhelm Bormann

Wilhelm Bormann was from 13-09-1944 till 30-12-1944 in Holland and the Eifel

Self Propelled Assault Howitzers

Can anyone tell me if any Self Propelled Assault Howitzers, perhaps 105mm type, were attached to the 244 at the start of the Bulge?

Beginning in 1943 beside the assault gun (7,5-cm Sturmgeschütz 40 Sd.Kfz 142/1) an assault howitzer (10,5-cm Sturmhaubitze 42 Sd.Kfz 142/2) was in production.

The idea was to equip one platoon in every battery of the StuG brigades with howitzers. According to loss and supply the number of combat-ready vehicles was changing every day but one can expect howitzers in nearly every StuG brigade until the end.
