Hi all,
I am new to this forum but thought I would give it a try.
I am trying to do some research on my great uncle, who never came back from the Crimea, 1st October 1943.
My Grandma insists he had an Edelweiss on his sleeve, but I can't find reference to Gebirgsjager in the area of Nikolayev/Nikolaev in Oct '43.
4.Gebirgs were retreating from the Kuban Bridgehead and back into the Crimean Peninsular at this time though.
My Grandma believes his last letter home was from Sevastopol, this is also the cemetery where his name is listed as missing?
I am awaiting for any info from Wast.
Can anyone shed any light?

Thanks, Rich.
