This may or may not help but some of them did move here to start a new life after the war. Some changed their names. Your best bet is to make some contacts in Germany and then pay a visit. When I was stationed there a guy is my unit was married to a German girl whose father fought on the eastern front. He mentioned how cold it was. I think you will be shocked as western propaganda portrays these men as being cold blooded killers and that is very far from the truth. The impression I was left with were these were very noble and kind men doing their job. Yes, I am certain they had their bad apples but overall as a society the Germans are a very noble and intelligent people and they will go out of their way to help you.Comment
