    Ciao Ric!

Are you sure of all the dates you wrote?
Because i checked the Fuhrerliste but i found only 1 soldier wi the name of Mann Wilhelm, but he was born in Dusseldorf in 1912 and died in 1944 in Normandie.
The SS officer you're looking for has a very low SS number...

    My books:

    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

      Ciao Antony,

Mann's info come by 1938 DAL and KIA date comes by his NSDAP membership file.

      Here's Mann in uniform

1938 would be Allgemeine-SS rank, possibly killed in accident, air raid, partisan, etc if he was not holding Waffen-SS rank when killed.

Hi Ric, I checked again and I found one Wilhelm Mann as Stabsfuhrer from may 7 1934 to january 1 1935 in the SS-Abschnitt X that was based in Stuttgart.

"Your" man was from the same city, I think he has good chances to be also the same person.

Mann has both a RuSHA fle and a Misc SS attribution at NARA, apart from the NSDAP data. I am assuming you have his image from the RuSHA file, let me know if I am mistaken.

The only collection left at NARA, apart from some esoteric medical files, etc., would be the NSDAP collections, but there is usually little military related data within.

Of course, there is always WASt, if you have the patience.

                    Cheers,

                    Mike
