There is no Max listed as MIA or so on the Volksbund. But unless you come up with date of birth/place of birth/date of MIA or KIA/Fp-number etc. it will be very hard to find anything about him.

      Hello.

There is an Obergefreiter Walter Wiechoczek listed on the Volksbund,He is born in Peiskretscham, Polen, 01.04.1919 . He was KIA at 04.04.1942 in Koj-Assern.

And Obergefreiter Walter Wiechoczek is presumably buried att the war cemetery in Sewastopol as an unknown Soldier. If I have read out the German text correct.

"Walter Wiechoczek ist vermutlich als unbekannter Soldat auf die Kriegsgräberstätte in Sewastopol - Sammelfriedhof (Ukraine) überführt worden."

Maybee this is Your Max ? often the dead solldiers can bee registered under an other "first name" ( the second first name ) on the Volksbund Arcives.

      Best Regards

      Björn

Not everyone is in the data base, if he was a Polish national or Volksdeutsch from Silesia etc. there may not be enlistment records etc. The WASt would be the best bet.

It mentions 1. / Sanitäts-Kompanie 355. This was part of Sanitätsdienste 355, part of 355. Infanterie-Division, which was part of Heeresgruppe Süd and in the city/place Saporoshje.

H.V.Pl. stands for Haupt Verband Platz.

                  I have no info on I./Sanitäts-Regiment 868
