Unknown KM Unit Information Request

Hello.
I have a KvK II mit Schwertern citation awarded to a sailor belonging to a Kriegsmarine unit called KOMMANDO 'GAZELLE' - does anyone have any information on what type of unit this was? The citation is dated for January 1943 and is signed by Admiral Schniewind.

I can only find one reference to a 'Gazelle' on Lexikon and this was a ship escorting 3. Räumbootsflottille, but I have no idea if this is what is being referred to by Kommando Gazelle. Any amplifying information is appreciated.

It is the ship 'Gazelle' the term Kommando means 'the command' or 'the command of the ship Gazelle'

As to which Gazelle, it could be this one http://www.german-navy.de/kriegsmari...lle/index.html even though it sunk in Sept. 42.
Or it could be the fleet tender Gazelle.

Thank you for that Simon. I would assume it to be the Tender if it was in company with a flotilla of 'little ships', possibly acting as their depot or HQ ship.
