Battlerfield of Battle of Volchov, Russia

I am planning to travel to the area of Volchov to visit the battle grounds where the 58th Division were fighting. Can anybody help me identify where exactly they were? Or where I could find out more about the battle in general.

Also I am looking for the Memorial cemetery north of Novgorod where the Germans held a Memorial to the Fallen in July 1942. Does it still exist?

    Hi Angela,
    Can you read in spanish?
Since the spanish Division Azul (renamed 250 Div into the German Army) also fought in the Volchov-Novgorod area there's a lot of information related to that particular area.
In this forum you will find some interesting maps also:

58th did not move a lot during Wolchow battle in early 1942. Its location is shown below.

The battlefield held by 58th was later replaced by 212nd. Here a photo taken by a Leutnant of 212nd in Wolchow.

I hope you will have a fruitful trip. I envy you!
