Infantry Reserve Battalion 435 Info needed

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to find information on Inf Ers Btl 435. All I can find is it was recruited in Wehrkreis V.

I'm trying to find where they saw action and specifically where they were December 1941 through January 1942.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

This batallion were created on August 26 1939 in Plochingen.
No one "ersatz bataillon", from what i know, saw action, except until the extreme last part of the war. These were "replacement" units not combat units; in these the soldiers learn the means of military life or did a rehabilitation after a wound.

The Inf. Btl. 435 from december 1941 until january 1942 was in Bruyeres / Vogesen (near Epinal) in west France.

Thank you, I have 2 documents for a man in this unit, one for the EKII the other for the black wound badge.

It's probably that the soldier was wound in action and after he received both awards during the period of rehabilitation in this unit.

The Inf. Ers. Btl. 435 give replacement men for 215 Infanterie-Division. So it's also probably that this soldier fought in Russia, in Volkhow front (Army Group North near Leningrad), were the division was from december 1941 to march 1942.
