    Rudolf Appoldt, died 1941.

Resently i bought a nice picture from ebay, and the seller also had 2 other photo's for sale, which i both bought cheaply.

One of those was the following picture, my question about it is: in which unit was the guy?
On the cross i read: "Gefr. Ln. 7/12 aus Ansbach".

He died near or in Plougrescont, thats all the way on the top-left of France, in the region of Bretagne.
Plougrescont is the German name for Plougrescant (only one differend letter).
But i can't realy find anything, though Infanterie regiment 7 was kind of near the place.

    That was my grandfather´s brother...

76 years later I find this photo here - that is scary and impressive as it really touches me in this moment.

My grandfather really loved and deeply missed him until he died himself 63 years after his brother in 2004...

          Hello !

I just noticed this thread :
          The short-cut :
          Ln. ...
is in my oppinion related almost exclusively to Luftwaffen-Nachrichten units.
So could it be, that this soldier was in a Luftwaffen-Nachrichten-unit in that area ?

          Best regards,

          Archi
