Rombaut Guido

Has anyone more informatie on Feldwebel Guido Rombaut? He flew in a Focke-Wulf 190 A-6. He is missing since 27 september 1943 after he was (probably) shot down. Thet went into the air after the alarm was sound because the Allied bombers were doing a raid on Emden.

Around 300 B-17's were escorted by 262 P-47's. Which involved in a heavy airbattle. Rombaut, Guido belonged to the 6./ Jagdgeschwader 1 "Oesau". There were 27 German casualties.

Hi luftsturm,
This is all i found ,not much probely you all ready know it.
Two pilots were wounded and Uffz gG Rombout of 6.staffel was posted missing he represented a unque case in the annals of the luftwaffe.
Originally,A belgian volunteer in the flemissh SS through persistence he obtaind a transfer to the luftwaffe and was posted to JG 1 only several days before he went missing( shot down by p-47s)

Thanks, yes he was in the SS-Baubataillon and further info which I posted is all I know.

They don't like to be called Belgian volunteers but Flemish volunteers.
