    - 1941-1942 "Winterslacht im Östen" outside Moscow as a "Hauptman"
    - 8 April 1943 dies in hospital in "Orel" because of severe wounds. Buried in a military cemetery in "Ljudinowo" near Orel

Known medals: - German Cross in Gold (18. mars 1943)
    - Iron Cross first and second class
    - Infanterie Sturm Abseichen in silver

The uniforms and medals are sadly not his originals. The medals were stolen from my uncle i the seventies.

      Vielen Dank Johannes !

The links gave me good information.

Could you advice on any vet organisations where I could try to trace any former Inf/Gre reg 337 members?

      Best regards

        Hello Terje,

I have on volume of the Deutsche Soldatenjahrbuch (1995). At the end there are several pages with a list of vet-organisations. One for 208. ID is mentioned. Unfortunately it is one of the few without an adress. There is none for IR 337.

I send You a PM with an adress that might help further.

          Mr. Skagen,
I realise I'm 3.5 years late, but I have sent you an email about your grandfather and his unit.

Anyone who can help me to information, documents, photos, ... about IR337 and the whole ID208 (IR309, IR337, IR338, AR208) during the may 1940 campaign, is very welcome!
