Hey everyone, never had to research a soldier and have no idea really on how to do it. So looking for some points and places to look up info. IM looking info on the unit: 4.Gren.Rgt.(mot)35 and any thing related to soldier Heinrich Karl Vo(has 2 dots above the o)lkel or Volkel. I have his ek1, ek2, ostmedaille, bwb document as well as his clearance certificate and temp. registration to Dusseldorf, and what i assume is a pass with a field post number 08675E (its dated Aug 23,24 1942 and the paper has a ton of writing on it that i can't read and a bunch of stamps. Any and all help would be greatly apprciated or at least a turn in the right direction. Thanks for any and all help. Matt
Shouldn't it be then Infanterie? I explain it like this: The soldier got the Medaille Winterschlacht im Osten on the 12.08.42, but the document he got later, after the 25.10.42, and by the issuance he told the 12.08.42 as the date of the conference and as unit they took the 4./ Gren. Rgt. 35 (mot.), because then it was their unit.
