Help needed with RKT Egon-Horst Peterhänsel

    Hey Guys,

I desperatley need some more info on this man
All I have is info on what rank he was, when he received his DKiG as well as the date of his RK.
He ended the war as a LtCol, but I have no clue as to why he was issued the DKiG or the RK.
Could somebody maybe give me more info or point me in the right direction.
This would be greatly appreciated guys

    HE WAS BORN 6/12/1913

    Best regards,
    Dion

      Promotion dates:
      Leutnant 01.04.36 (479)
      Oblt. and Hptm. ?
      Major 01.12.43 (54a)
      Oberstleutnant 09.11.44 (125)

According to Walter Held's bibliographic series of German post-war literature, there is an article about Peterhänsel in a veteran's newsletter. You might have trouble tracking it down but here you go anyway:
"Major Horst-Egon Peterhänsel" in "Kameradendienst: Nachrichtenblatt für die Angehörigen der ehemaligen 11. Infanterie-Division und ihrer Traditionseinheiten" Nr. 4/1988, page 10.

Do you know his date of death?

      All the best,
      Jason

Thanks for that. The website wasn't working properly when I tried to have a look.

The OdR's "Das Ritterkreuz" newsletter usually has articles about recently deceased Ritterkreuzträger which contain interesting details of their careers and war-time deeds. I don't have any issues from 2000 but there must surely be some members here who do.

Does anybody have the issue of the "Alte Kameraden" of 6/1956?
Apparently he is also mentioned in there?
