German Cross Question??????

Gentlemen,
I am trying to help a friend research a Luftwaffe Flight Tunic he has just purchased. It is named to a Knights Cross Winner, Hauptmann Otto Köhnke, Kdr.II./KG54. What he needs to know is, Did this pilot win the German Cross? Thank you in advance for any help.

Yes! As an Olt. in the 4/KG 3 on Feb. 14th of '42! This is per Das Deutsche Kreuz by Patzwall/Scherzer.

His bio notice is mentioned in Obermaier's book dealing with KC fighter pilots.
