grenadier regiment 320,431

help needed.
i have recently aquired 5 award citations to 1 man from grenadier regiment 320,later 431.could anyone steer me in the right direction reference tracing the regiment history,engagements.

Award documents are for Iron Cross 2nd class, black and silver wound badge, Infantry assault badge and the 1941/42 Winter medal.

To start with Jon you can help us help you by posting decent pictures of the documents that we can actually read properly.

You've been given links to the basic info easily available on the net, if you want more detailed info then you'll have to look a little further. It's down to how detailed you want to go and how much time you'd like to put into it.

There's two avenues you can explore. Look for litrature that covers the campaigns the divisions were involved in, this will give you a broad general overview. For detailed information then you want to go for the records of the divisions, relevant corps and armies. See the pinned thread on NARA microfilms.

Of course you're going to need a working knowledge of military German, terminology etc. but you'd be surprised sometimes how much you can dig up.
