    Is this a Field-Post Number?

    Hi Team,
A commonly asked question, but I would be very grateful for any help.
I have a German AGFA camera with several soldiers serial numbers etc inscribed on the case. Along with these is what I assume is the original owners name and fieldpost number...?
I am uncertain on this point. As this will have been picked up in N.Africa/Med' theatre I'm hoping to pin down more details.
    Can anyone help?
    Many Thanks,
    Mark.

      Hi Simon,
Thank You - I'm grateful for the information!
What can anyone tell me about this unit?? Where/when?
I look forward to hearing anything! (I'm happy to get PM's on the subject...)
      Regards,
      Mark.

Well it was an unloading unit, either at a railhead or port. Picking up any info on it is going to be tough i imagine given the obscure 'boring' nature of it.

What's the last number of the one above? A 6 or 4?

In fact are those even German names? The bottom one looks like French and the top one Liarder?

The other number appears to be 35526

            Thanks Guys,
The top one is the NZ soldiers name and serial number -
            N.Liardet
            35526
            N.Z.E.F.
On the outside of the case is also another soldiers name -
            J.Newman
            Div.Sigs (Division Signals)
These two might have traded the camera amongst themselves. The camera also has a very small N.L. poorly scratched onto the case in one place.
My guess is that our chap with the F/P number was the camera donor...but where did Liardet or Newman pick it up from?
            Thanks Again for the input.
            Mark.

Then the chances are that isn't an fp number and it's another allied soldier.
