Hello,
I recently had an email forwarded to me from a relative on the subject of actor Lee Marvin's service in the USMC. In it, it states that Lee received the Navy Cross for action on Iwo Jima along with his Sgt. Bob Keeshan who played Captain Kangaroo. This is the first I've heard of it being a big Lee Marvin fan. I would be happy to forward the email to anyone who wishes to post it on the forum. It also states that Mr. Rogers was a former Navy Seal.

Lee Marvin told the story on The Late Show with Johnny Carson, I think he was wounded and was carried off by Bob Keeshan of Kangaroo fame so that is a true story.

Mr. Rodgers if not mistaken was not a Navy Seal.

Mr. Rogers was never in the Military, Lee Marvin served but was not at Iwo. It pays to remember that actors are professional liars.
