    KG-27 Boelke Information Request

    Hello,
I have a tunic to Obergefreiten Georg Holten who was a crew member of a HE-111 of 1./KG 27 (I also have scans/photocopies of his award citations - Bomber Clasp in Bronze, Silver & Gold / EK II & I / Romanian Crusade Against Communism / Air Gunners Badge).
The Bomber Clasp in Gold was I believe awarded after his death as it has an award date of 20th April 1944 but I believe he was KIA on 16th January 1944 in Russia.

Can anyone shed any light on his final mission, or indeed any further details of him?

Walter Waiss is the indefatigable chronicler of KG 27, but I do not believe he has published Band VI yet. That's the one that will cover 1944. He material is exquisitely detailed and will certainly cover Holten's final mission on 16 January 1944. Waiss' father served with KG 27 at about the same time, I believe. He lives in Neuss in the Ruhr.
