According to Mitcham's OOB & Bishop/Rosado German Wehrmacht Panzer Divisions Of WW2, the 19 PD was fighting near Kiev in November 1943, at Zhitomir in December, where it played a major part in the battle which destroyed 2 Russian armies & badly mauled a third, and was heavily engaged in the withdrawal through the northern Ukraine in March 1944. It formed part of Hube's 'Floating Pocket' in March & April. It was pulled out of the line in May and sent to the Netherlands for rest, refit & re-equipping with 81 Pz IV's, 79 Panthers & 8 3.7cm Flakpanzer IV's
