    I don't have much to go on here but I do have a fieldpost # of 05869. Does anyone have any details on this #?

        What is the FpN from and what is the date associated with it if it's from a letter or a document? Can't give you much more information without knowing the answers to those two questions.

          It is on a 1944 dated (no month) driver's license.

            Going from the information you provided then it looks like the licence was issued by the headquarters of the XXV Army Corps which in 1944 was in North West France and ended up bottled up in Lorient.


            On a more general note, and this isn't aimed at you personally, too many people ask a question with one piece of the puzzle yet expect a complete and accurate answer. There is, in fact a pinned thread at the top of this forum explaining what information is needed to get the most out of an fpn and how to interpret them.
