Yes, it's Heer (Army) coast artillery. I don't know the armament. As you know, the Germans used a huge variety of guns for the coast artillery, including captured guns, guns obtained by dismantling enemy warships, in effect, just about anything they could find.

          Hello,
If you wish to find out more about these units you might want to try posting a query on the Axis History Forum website (forum.axishistory.com) as they have a specific section for Fortifications & Artillery where someone may well be able to fill in the blanks for you. In fact seeing as it is a quiet day here I will post it on your behalf and see what responses there are.

              Hello again,
I have had one response on the Axis History forum:

The Stellungbatterie (Küste) 417 was located near Teteghen
              ( Dunkirk ) and was equiped with 4 x 15.5 cm s.F.H. 414 (f).

              I hope this helps.

Good work, Hucks! I might just add with your permission that the "(f)" stands for französische (French). So these heavy pieces were field howitzers captured from the French, probably in 1940, and assigned the Beute-Bestandsnummer 414.

It's always good when the information comes together from various people/resources to form a bigger picture and fill in the blanks.
