Hello guys, any words about this unit are welcome. Any thoughts what (A) means?

I found in "Mehner" under the "ausbildungs und ersatztruppen" a "SS-Ersatz-bataillon "A" (T for TOTENKOPF)
18.12.1940 Kommandeur : SS-Stubaf. STEINHOFF
Must be : Steinhoff, Alexander Stubaf. born 17. 9.84, SS Nr 276 906

Just found in TESSIN :
SS-Ersatz-Btl (A), created 6.9.1940 in GOSLAR as "Ersatz-Bataillon" for ALL SS-T(Totenkopf) units which were active as "regular" army forces.
In Sep 1941 the name changed to "SS-Ers.Btl. Nord" at Wehlau.

Ers.Btl. (A) was established in Goslar per order of the SS-FHA dated 6.09.40, with effect 10.09.40, as replacement unit for the SS-Totenkopfstandarten 4, 6, 7 and 11, and for the I. and II./"K".

By order of the SS-FHA of 26.02.41 the Ers.Btl. (A), Goslar, was redesignated Ers.Btl. "Nord", now as replacement unit for 6, 7 and 9.SS-Totenkopfstandarten.

The first commander from 12.09.40 to early 1941 was Stubaf. Alexander Steinhoff.
