Can anyone please tell me when did JG 26 stop painting the Schlageter shields on their planes ? Thanks for any help, Jeff

Hi,

it was removed by the I/JG26 in March-April1941. The Bf109Fs of the III/JG26 sported this badge till August 1941. By the 5/JG26 it was seen yet in June 1941.

Thanks guys for the info, was there a reason they stopped the practise ? was it the time factor, due to the ever changing of aircraft due to aircraft losses ?
