    25. Infanterie division

    Hello

    for one of my research activities I am looking for more information about the locations of the 25. Infanterie division.

    The places mentionned in lexikon der wehrmacht and google searches don't give many results for this unit. And the books about this division don't seem to be widespread. I hope somebody has one of these books or a wehrpass of one of the units.

    I am interested in places ( town/city names ) with or without dates where they were active in the westfeldzug and the ostfeldzug till end march 1942.

    I am especially interested in the places where the crossed or followed the important rivers: the Meuse, Marne, Loire and Dnjepr.

    Give this a try. You can purchase a nice summary of the 25 ID taken from divisional records and other sources. Click on "Teil II" on the left and then find the 25 ID

      Thanks for the answer, but I am considering another option.
      I would need to buy both 25.ID and 25.ID(mot) for a total of 7,50€

      Perhaps this book will be usefull.
      For 20€ I can have this book and I have other items of others units between 1-50 ID. So does anybody have any experience with this book?

        If the information is still needed, this comes from "Geschichte Der 25. Division". There is plenty more detail if needed...

        25 ID began the west feldzug in reserve, action by Laon 20.5.40 to Oise-Aisne-Kanal, Chemin des Dames and across Aisne at Missy, over the Marne between Reuilly and Fossoy on 11 June, through Sezanne, Romilly, Sens (15.6), Briare (the Loire 17.6), Bourges, St. Armand before returning to demarkation line on 6/21.
        The 25th was motorized for the eastern feldzug and was in reserve at Uzcilug in Poland on 6/22, Rowno from 28.6 to 3.7, Zwiahel 8.7, Zhitomir 11.7 to 18.7, 19.7 in the Irpen area in front of Kiev, secured the Uman Kessel from 1.8 to 8.8, Kirowoi Rog 14.8, across the Dnjepr from Saporoshje fro 18.8 to 12.9. Crossed the Dnjepr at Krementschug 14.9. Kiev from the east this time from 12.9 to 23.9, Romny 24.9 to 6.10, Sewsk 9.10 to 12.11, Briansk kessel from 6.10 to 20.10, Orel, Wenew 7.12.41 (Southeast of Moscow!) Retreated through Mzenek towards Orel to the "Susha-Oka-Stellung" where they remained from 24.12.41 until 6.9.42.
