4.SS A.A.5 I think would be the aufklarung abteilung of SS Wiking. It seems that was this soldats only field unit. Looks like he transferred from the army. Any details elsewhere in the WP of this move, posting the battles he participsted him might also help to pin down a unit.

The last entry indicates "Rasse-und Siedlungshauptamt-SS", which was the Race and Resettlement division/department.

Can you provide scans of the wounds (page 34) and actions he participated in (pages 32 onwards). It looks like he was an army pioinere that later transferred to the SS and served with A.A.5 in the field. He then transferred to the convalescent compnay of the ss pioniere eraszt battalion before his last posting in the Race and Resettlement division/department. Myabe a wound caused his transfer there. What i find interesting is his active service in the 4.SSA.A.5, a recon unit despite his background as an engineer or was it normal for aufkalrung abteilungs to have engineers attached to them?<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

            cheers
            Jonathan

                Hello,

I cant really speak for SS-Pz.AA5 "Wiking", but atleast in the SS-Pz.AA11 "Nordland", there was pioneers attached to it (I belive fifth company?).
