    Hello.
I hope this is the right forum section, but i had a small question.
Does anyone know what german luftwaffe flak regiment was based around Napoli in Italy around 1942-1943?
    Many thanks.

    Flakgruppe Neapel (Flak-Regimentsstab 57).

Stab/Flak-Rgt. 57 commanded all German Flak units in and around Naples from the second half of 1942 until the end of September 1943.

Thanks Larry for all your help.

I also found this on google just now.

(The 1st and 3rd Fallschirmjäger regiments were the first to see action in Tunisia attached to 10th Panzer Division with the I./Flak Regiment undertaking air defence duties in Naples in December 1942)

May i ask, was there any luftwaffe flak units based in Napels in 1941?
      Many thanks.

Not that I know of. Allied air raids on Naples were not yet a problem so the city relied on Italian AA defenses. There may have been a few batteries of Luftwaffe Flak that set up around Naples on a very temporary basis during 1941, but this would have been more for training purposes than anything else. Luftwaffe Flak in Italy in 1941 was all on Sicily or awaiting boat space for shipping to Libya.

Ferga-Ferganzungsabteilung 88mm Flak. 4/520 (reference book Wehrmacht 43 Napoli Ezio Berti author)
this unit Flak make part at the antiaircraft defence of Naples, after against the neapolitan
partisan insurrection in Sept.43 (reserve Battalion 676 Hugo Saggau commander)
"six italians, dressed in rather unusual diving suits and equipped with materials of laughably little cost have swung the military balance of power in the Mediterranean in favour of the Axis".
