Does anyone know when Karl Herwig is credited for the first time in the SS service list as having a honor sword ? SS # 5447 Party # 97428 Probably (1938) Thanks

The degen is first listed as being issued to Herwig is in the 1938 DAL, being absent as an award in his listing in the 1937 DAL.
So, we have a 1 year timeframe, but that is as much as I can help you on this one.

RaymondG,The original award document is dated 4/20/1938.There was only a 8 month time frame.Sometimes it did not take long.You can see and read and buy the sword at Tom Johnsons website. Interesting item.ThanksComment
