    Graignes France June 1944

    Hi

    Does anyone know what german units were involved in the battle for this town with the 507PIR shortly after D Day.

      Hi

      Thank You for reply. I saw a film about this battle on the history channel last week.
      According to the film there was a Pnz gren outfit trying to get to the beach area that ran into the us paratropers. The outfit was a waffen ss unit,so I was curious as to the unit it was.

        Maybe elements of 17th SS PzGn. But i dnt know how close they were to beaches on D-Day.
