    Fl.T.S.A 1. Komp

    Hi guys,

over on the Political forum, I asked a question about stamps found on a 1937 pair of Y-straps.

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=1#post2657366

As far as I could find out, and what made most sense, is that it was the Fliegertechnische SA. Hence me asking for info about that iunit, as I could not find a lot using Google or books.

But now it's being mentioned that it may possibly be another unit, not SA related at all.

    Any ideas here?

    Thanks,
    Frank.

First off, you will need to post a photo of of the markings as they appear on the straps. About 4 out of every 5 times a question like this comes up, the inquirer has interpreted the markings incorrectly.

        "Fl.T.S.A.1.Komp."

The marking is as clear as a bell, there's no doubt about that. Each one of the letters "T", "S" and "A" can mean anywhere from 10 to 20 different things, which means the mathematical combinations are enormous. "Fl", on the other hand, almost always stood for Flieger-, Flug- or Flotille when used as part of a unit designation.

Here are some excellent resources for all types of abbreviations used during the TR period:

You could try these and see if you can solve the riddle because I have no idea what that combination might be. Your original theory about the SA may be correct.
