The original remnants of "Langemarck" went to "Das Reich" as a battalion of a new Rgt "Langemarck though only a regiment for a brief time with that division during rebuilding to Panzer-Grenadier-Divison status in 1942. The II./Langemarch became an Abteilung of the Panzer Regiment in October 1942. The I./Langemarck was the division's original Kradschützen Bataillon. When it dissolved in 1943 (while commanded by KC holder Jacob Fick), its personnel were absorbed by the Aufklärungsabteilung that Fick assued command of. More specific dates, details, and various commanders within the development of these units is in "German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police" vol. 1 (Bender Publishing)and "Knights of Steel" vol. 2 (self-published). The original Kradschützen Bataillon (first led by KC holder Fritz Klingenberg) was not created until Feb 1941, the elemnts used included the motorcycle support Kompanien of "Deutschland" and "Der Führer" so he may be speaking of one of those elements.
