Infantry Regiment 3

Hello All:
Not sure if this got posted, so am trying again! Have an ID tag stating II./ J. R. 3. Dealer in Germany said this is Infantry Regiment 3. Can anyone verify this? Also, any info on where this unit saw action is appreciated. Any site where one can look up this info? Thanks.
