Hi guys
During my research concerning the war in southern France, I have found out that most of the units were majoritarly composed of "Polish" soldiers. Now what exactely does Polish mean to start with. It seems that some were German Volksdeutsch, while other were real Poles who couldnt even talk German!
So, how many of the "Polish" people would have ended up staying in Poland after the war, and not getting sent to Germany?
I am desperetaly trying to get in touch with some German vets who were in southern France, and am having the greatest difficulties. Is there any way to get in contact with vets who may still be in Poland? Do they have veteran organisations over there for men who served in the Wehrmacht?
Any leads will be very appreciated.
