I obtained the Knight's Cross document for the subect General der Infanterie. I have managed to acquire several pictures and autographs, copies of some of his personnel file, and a bit of information from the Bundesarchiv covering his assignments and the supporting info for his KC award. I have also found that he was a defendent in the Nuremberg Hostage trail regarding anti-partisan activities, receiving a light sentence and have the court proceeding for that. So while I have some information, the is much more. Is there are source where I can obtain information regarding the action in Russia as commander of the 106th infantry division which brought him the KC? He also participated in the invasion of France for which he was recommended for, but did not receive the KC,
I think that I have hit all the internet sources that come up and have had some luck with the Bundesarchiev and and Robert McDivitt.
Any ideas on where I might turn next?
This is my first posting. I hope that it is appropriate
