German's use of dogs(K-9) during war

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has any info/links/books/photos...you get the point, that show the use of dogs in combat. As you can all tell by my forum name, I was and am currently a dog handler(23 years). Ive been interested in finding out about the Wehrmachts usage of dogs during the war. I was told by Georg Rausch that He remembered them being used to bring medical supplies forward in the trenches and such. Anybody with any help, questions, etc... just chime in. Thanks all

Dogs were used to a very great extent in the Wehrmacht, although I don't think as creatively as they are now used in various armed forces. The German Feldgendarmerie and the Nachrichtentruppe used dogs and handlers in special platoon-sized units called a Hundestaffel.
