I have dug this thing up in a estate sale, it came from a WW2 vets widow who recently passed away. Any help with it?

This is the 'Hermann Goring Commemorative Medal of the German Academy For Aeronautical Research'.. A rare and much sought after award, and a much copied Item.. Better Pic's would be needed for a definitive answer, I'm afraid.. I would also advise that you have this thread moved to one of the 'awards' forums...
From what I can see, there seems to be a marked lack of detail to the top clip that supports the pin, or is that a repair??
