where to find info about individual soldiers?

I am looking for more information about a couple of individual german soldiers, and I wondered where this can be found.
I have already heard of the militararchiv Freiburg, but can you there also find info on individual soldiers? and what info can be found there about the soldiers??

BA-MA Freiburg is not the branch to contact if you are looking for info on soldiers or NCOs. For that you hsould contact WASt Berlin. You should also check the KIA /MIA database here http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche/content_suche.asp enter the last name in "nachname" field
