    Hi Luc

Are you sure they received totenkopfrings?

Without having the ring/TK document, getting an exact date is very difficult unless there is something about the application or bestowal in the personnel file, which is not that common.

      Hi Raymond

thanks for your allways great help in research!!
Concerning the rings: someone called me from Germany that he knows those two rings by relatives of those 2 officers. The thing that interested me is where did they served during the war. I don't have the date that is in the rings.

I searched on the internet but can't find anything related to those two officers.. I hope someone has the files of them.

        Hi Luc

Ah, now that makes more sense.

Here is some information on Ritzert:

        Ritzert, Heinz Dr.
        DOB: 2.4.14
        SS Nr:289 804
        Stubaf. SS-FHA 2.45
        Hstuf. Chef,15./Pz.GR.25 6.44
        Ostuf. Adj.Pz.GR.1 2.43

Source: Führerliste der Waffen-SS - John P. Moore

Ritzert is listed in one officer list and I will add that information in a while.

          Luc,

Looked at his file at the NARA today and no mention throughout of the ring. Every "ringknocker" I've looked-up had the date of award annotated in the appropriate block. Ritzert's is blank. This guy had a kickin' career by the way, started as an EM in 1937 and ended the war as Stubaf. He served in the Leibstandarte and 12th SS HJ.

Nothing on Duhr. There were a few guys named Duhr, but with no first name or DOB impossible to do a decent search.

          Wish I had better news.

How very funny. Bob, you and I were doing the same research for Luc, on the same day, in the same room at NARA. We must have passed each other yesterday.

You aren't that youngish, Pat Benatar looking redhead in 3 inch heels by any chance, are you?

BTW, look at the advancement in rank.

              ~9 November 40
              ~9 November 42
              ~9 November 43
              ~30 January 45

I noticed that he had two separate promotion docs for the same time period, as a Reserve officer for both LAH and 12th SS HitlerJugend. Is this common?

Nope, white shirt and tie. I'll be there tomorrow. If you are, we should grab lunch, beer, or a redhead!

As much as I like the thought of the third and second option (in that order) I won't be able to make it. I have a 10:00 meeting and since I'd have to drive up from Ft. Belvoir that would kill my plans for a Noon departure for home.

I would like to get together though. I have a nutty week between the 14th-18th so if you're up to it we can try the week after. My e-mail is soldat4@cox.net. Shoot me one in the next couple of days and we can talk.

                    Lookin' forward to meeting you.

                    Best!!

thanks a lot for all your information. It is realy a great help for me. Now I'm going to try to buy the Ritzert TK ring. If I succeed, I will show the pictures of the ring.

I became today the first name of Duhr, it is Frans Duhr
If someone knows more about him, that would be great.

Lothar REICHERT became a TK ring 4/11/1944, does someone knows more about his military live?

                        thanks for all input!!
